Every now and then I hang around in a pet shop in the 11th district in Vienna, look at the animals there and occasionally have enriching conversations with the owner about God and the world. I don’t go there regularly, sometimes more frequently, sometimes less. The last few times I’ve always orbited the aquariums.

I wanted to keep fish. But which ones? I mean what species, or maybe several species? The fish should definitely not make any special demands. There were several potential aspirants. Amongst others, zebrafish were on the list. I had heard of zebrafish being used as a model organism.

This has attracted my attention. Unfortunately they were a little too lively for my taste, almost hectic. I would have preferred leisurely floating fish. Howsoever. The fact that they serve as a model organism was potentially too interesting, so I decided to accept their restlessness.
